How to shelter in the unlikely event of an accident at the Anniston Army Depot.
In the unlikely event of an incident at the Anniston Army Depot you could be asked to shelter-in-place. Follow these simple rules to make sure that you and your family are safe.
Move
inside immediately.
Close all
windows and doors, locking them.
Turn off
all ventilation.
Close any
type air vent.
Enter a
central room in your home. Where you have placed your SIP Kit.
Cover
windows, doors and vents with prepared pre-cut plastic and duct tape.
Listen to
your local EAS radio station on the radio in your SIP Kit.
Follow instructions immediately when told to shelter and when told to end shelter. If you feel you would not be able to follow sheltering instructions request the help of a neighbor, family member or friend.
DO NOT call 911 unless there is a life-threatening situation such as a heart attack.
DO NOT go to your childs school. The schools will protect your children.
