COUNTY AND STATE BUSINESS LICENSES
The Revenue Commissioner is also responsible for the issuance of State and County business licenses. These licenses expire September 30th of every year and are renewable during the month of October.

Conservation Licenses are also issued in the Revenue Office.

ANNUAL EQUALIZATION

You may have heard the term "annual equalization". In the past, county-wide reappraisals were done about every fourth or fifty year and, normally, would result in about a 15% increase in appraised value each time they were done. Annual equalization attempts to spread that increase out over the period by making annual adjustments which result in smaller changes each year instead of one large adjustment every fourth or fifth year. This should make it a little easier to budget your property taxes. The Alabama Department of Revenue has ordered Talladega County to begin this process with a county-wide reappraisal for the 2005 tax year and then adjust annually after that. Please contact the Talladega County Appraisal Department for further information.

APPRAISAL
Our Appraisal Department now has an office in our Talladega and Sylacuaga Buildings. You can meet with an Appraiser (please call for an appointment), purchase copies of property records and maps, and talk with an Appraisal Technician about any problem that you might have relating to tax mapping and appraisal.
