Probate Office

The Talladega County Probate Office welcomes you to our website.  We hope you find it informative and helpful.  Our offices serve Talladega County citizens by performing all duties required by local, state, and federal laws.  It is our mission to provide exceptional customer service when assisting you.  The Probate Office has two divisions: Probate and Recording.

In the Probate Court side of our office, we are here to assist and perform duties such as:

  • Adoptions
  • Conservators
  • Guardianship
  • Involuntary Commitments
  • Name Change
  • Wills & Estates
Due to the complexity of laws and procedures of the Probate Court, we strongly suggest that you seek the advice of a licensed attorney.  The Probate Judge, Chief Clerk and staff of the Probate Court are prohibited by law to offer any legal advice.

In the County Probate side of our office, we record documents such as:

  • Deeds & Mortgages
  • Notary
  • Judgements & Liens
  • Issuance of Marriage License

The Probate Judge’s office is also responsible for ELECTIONS. We work closely with the Board of Registrars, The Circuit Court Clerk (absentee official), Sheriff and ES&S (Election Supplies and Software).  We are responsible for 27 polling sites and about 246 poll workers

In order to conveniently serve our customers, we provide services at two locations:  Talladega Courthouse and Sylacauga Annex.  We are here to assist you Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

We look forward to serving your needs at the Talladega County Probate Office.
