Chairman Cunningham (Kelvin) was born and raised in Talladega, Alabama. He graduated high school from Talladega County Training High School (now known as Talladega County Central). He received an Associate’s Degree from Gadsden State Community College; earned a Bachelor of Science from Alabama State University, a Master’s Degree from Jacksonville State University, and an Administrative Certificate from University of Alabama. Kelvin has been an educator for 32 years.
He is married to Venessa Cunningham and has one son. He enjoys working in the yard during his spare time.
Kelvin’s priorities for his district are to enhance economic development, improve roads, create additional revenue for the Highway Department, maintain a sound financial standing for the County, make water available to more communities, maintain cleaner communities, and create more jobs through economic development.
Kelvin is in his eighth term as District 3 Talladega County Commissioner and has served since 1992. His colleagues have appointed Kelvin to serve as Chairman of the Commission eleven times.
